Skate Park

Recently some of our boys received skateboards for their birthday or Christmas gifts. This is part of our wishlist initiative that sees the kids' receiving gifts that they truly desire and dream of owning. Our heart is to bless each child through these personalised gifts that they feel loved, seen, heard and valued. Thank you to the many folk who partner with us to make our kids' dreams come true! Just look at the fun they are having at the skate park!

The Beach

Our German volunteers have kept the children very busy these holidays and took advantage of the opportunity to catch some sun and waves with the kids!

Waterplay

Water play not only creates a sense of healthly fear of water, it is also a great way to teach children water safety while having a blast! Whether it is a trip to a pool or simply filling a tub with water, this form of play is a fantastic way to entertain the kids. We introduce the babies and toddlers to water play from a young age so that when its time to learn the skill of swimming they are already used to the water in their face, the big splashes and size of the large body of water.

Congratulations & Celebrations

March is our busiest birthday month with 5 kids to celebrate with! Here are 3 of them. We simply love spoiliing the children and making dreams come true. Seeing their faces light up at the sight of these awesome cakes to receiving personalised gifts just makes every effort worthwhile. Get in touch to be a part of making a birthday special with a cake, gift or party snacks, treats or decor items.

Sugar Rush Adventures

Stitching Friends for Africa took us on an adventure to Sugar Rush Park in Ballito. What a fun filled day that included the Jump Park, Laser Tag, Putt Putt, Slime Making Workshop, Train Ride, Reptile Interaction and free play in the amazing kids park! We took the opportunity to celebrate 2 birthdays there too- a memory these two kiddos will never forget!

Dear friends

This year is simply flying by and I cannot grasp that we are already gearing up to Easter!

Our natural response to trauma causes a physiological brain and body response that can impact development and physical, cognitive, emotional, social and behavioral functioning. Childhood trauma may be particularly harmful to the developing brain and subsequent functioning.

The detrimental effects of trauma often manifest in the school environment as challenges in learning, difficulty regulating behavior and emotions, erratic social interactions and poor physical coordination and abilities. With this in mind our desire is to give each of our children the best care and educational opportunities as possible. Smaller classes with greater individual attention is extremely beneficial to children with learning difficulties.

In 2023 we have 2 learners ready for high school and we would ideally like them to attend private schools. To partner with us to meet these costs please contact me personally.

With love and greetings

Loressa, staff and kids
