THE STORIES YOU’RE WRITING...
REAL LIVES. REAL HOPE. REAL IMPACT.

“I give you thanks, O Lord, with all my heart; I will sing your praises” Psalm 138:1

Dear friends

We are reminded just how beautiful restoration can be as two of our little ones were recently reunified with their families. These are moments filled with joy, courage and deep gratitude. Reunifications are the heartbeat of our mission, and we celebrate them with full hearts and pray that they will thrive in their loving family units.

Mandela Day didn’t stay a day… it became an entire week of kindness. Our home was overflowing with generosity, love, interaction and care. The children were blessed, spoilt and poured into in ways they will treasure for a long time. We are still in awe of every person and partner who chose to show up for them.

This month we also said farewell to our four German volunteers. Our hearts are heavy and sad, as they invested so much of themselves, their love, their energy, their creativity, their presence. They will be fondly remembered by our children, our staff and our church family.

Having long‐term volunteers is a tremendous support to our operations team, and the gap they leave behind is significant. If you have a passion to serve, preferably for six months to a year, we would truly love to hear from you.

As we look toward year‐end, we would like to make a special appeal. Our caregivers, the moms of our home, are the reason iKhaya exists. They give their time, their strength, their compassion and their hearts so that our children can heal, overcome and thrive. We would love to honour our team with an annual bonus and a year end lunch in December. If you feel stirred to contribute, you are welcome to reach out to us directly or use the reference “your name/staff” when making a payment. We are a Level 1 BEE organisation, and as a registered Public Benefit Organisation we can issue Section 18A certificates for tax‐saving benefits upon receipt of proof of payment.

Thank you for standing with us, for loving our children, and for helping us care for the ones who care for them.
