THE STORIES YOU’RE WRITING...
REAL LIVES. REAL HOPE. REAL IMPACT.
“I give you thanks, O Lord, with all my heart; I will sing your praises” Psalm 138:1
Dear friends
We opened our doors to two precious children after recently celebrating the knitting of two others into their new families. Their discharge created the space, and the calling, to invest deeply into two more lives, continuing our mission to reach vulnerable children with love, safety, and intentional care.
One of our newest arrivals is a tiny 1‐year‐5‐month‐old boy, weighing just 6.6kg. He
came to us due to neglect, with his mother too ill to care for him. When he arrived, he was frightened and refusing to eat. But with gentle reassurance, patient encouragement, and the calm of a safe home, he responded with brave little smiles and is eating well.
Although he can crawl, he cannot stand or walk yet, but with the care from our dedicatedstaff, we know he’ll soon find his feet.
Each admission and discharge reminds us why we exist: to bring healing, stability, and transformation, and to prepare each child for the future God intends, whether that is family reunification or growing into whole, confident adults while in our care, who contribute to our community. Two children went home. Two children arrived. And hope continues its beautiful cycle at iKhaya.
As we close this month’s news, I’m reminded again that every visit, every donation, every hour volunteered is part of something far bigger than the moment itself. At iKhaya, we are not only caring for children today, but we are also investing in the adults they will become. Confident, educated, whole young people who can stand strong in society and give back with purpose. This vision is only possible because our community, companies, churches, and partners choose to sow into their futures with such generosity and heart.
Your support strengthens the long‐term journey: from early stimulation to school readiness, to emotional healing, to the skills and stability they’ll need as young adults.
Thank you for believing in this work and for walking alongside us. Together, we are shaping futures that will thrive.
Warm regards,
Loressa, the Board, Staff and Children
