Music Day

Our kids enjoyed making their own musical instruments, singing and worshiping together. Waving ribbons and flags, playing the guitar and drums, dancing and singing all to our King! Thanks to Henelle and friends for another great morning!

Snowy

Snowy the hamster is a shared pet for the older kids. Not only are they loving having their very own pet but they are learning to be responsible, loving and caring towards animals and others as they take turns to feed her and clean the cage.

Car Wash Day

Teaching the kids to take ownership and caring for their belongings through daily chores.

Tummy Time

Tummy time is amazing for increasing neck and core strength, and head control in infants.

Vuvuzela

Noisy toys and boys mix very well! Learning the technique was a little chanllenging for some while others simply had the knack.

Making Playdough

Introduction to cooking and baking through making their own playdough. Measuring, tipping, mixing all while balancing on a chair to stimulate the mind, body and inprove coordination, concentration and listening skills.

Hopscotch

A wonderful twist on the good old hopscoth. Kids are learning to follow instructions while improving their balance, taking turns and exercising during afternoon play-time.

Goodbye

Saying goodbye is never easy for us as each child becomes family to us and to one another. So seeing children reunited with their parents is a bittersweet moment filled with joy and grief, tears and celebrations.

We pray for God to protect, guide and bless the twins as they return home.

May you know and never forget how special and loved you are! Farewell, little ones, until we meet agian!

Birthday Celebrations

Loads of fun, gifts, cake and friends mixed together to celebrate each child's special day and to ensure they know just how loved they are! To be part of making a child's wishes come true and to help make their day memorable get in touch with us. We can't wait to hear from you!

Dear friends of iKhaya

This year has simply flown by and I cannot grasp that we are already preparing for Christmas! We start this champaign early to allow time for interested sponsors to save and shop before the silly-shopping season starts!

Our AGM will be held in early November, so please keep an eye out for the notices as we would love you to join us- its just 1 hour!

We celebrated as our twins returned home. Please pray for them as a family to unite and heal from any trauma that their short seperation has caused. We admitted a baby boy and a little lass who are settling in well and are being loved immensely by us all. Traumatic experiences like the seperation of children from their primary caregivers, abuse and neglect, can put people at risk of developing mental health conditions, such as anxiety disorders. depression, and lead to behavioural problems, learning difficulties and relationship and social struggles.

Our heart's desire is to see our kids fully healed, well educated and able to thrive in adulthood, as parents and in their careers. If you are stirred to make a difference in the lives of the vulnerable, hurting and broken then please partner with us to see each child receive the counselling they so desperately require. This could mean financial support, psychologists joining hands with us to provide reduced or free services and last but certainly not leasr- prayer for our staff and children.

We value the input, love, care and support of our community and partners- we could not be on this journey alone. Thank you!

With love and greetings

Loressa, staff and kids
