THE STORIES YOU’RE WRITING...
REAL LIVES. REAL HOPE. REAL IMPACT.
“He ensures that orphans and widows receive justice."
Deuteronomy 10:18a
Dear friends of iKhaya
As I reflect on the past month, I am reminded that iKhaya is so much more than a children's home. It is a place of healing, growth, belonging and hope. Every day, we see children overcoming difficult beginnings, discovering their potential and building brighter futures.
None of this happens in isolation. The impact we make is only possible because of the incredible village that stands with us. Our supporters, donors, volunteers, churches and businesses help us meet not only the daily needs of the children, but also the goals, opportunities and support that enable lasting healing and growth.
One of our greatest joys is seeing our young people take steps towards independence.
Our eldest young lady is currently completing her Fashion Design and Sewing course and will be seeking employment or internship opportunities for 2027. She has experience in both waitressing and working in a hair salon and is eager to learn and grow. If your business may be able to offer an opportunity, we would love to hear from you.
As we approach the festive season, we are delighted that donors have been matched with each child to provide a personalised Christmas gift. This special project helps ensure every child feels seen, loved and worthy of having their hopes, dreams and wishes heard.
I would also like to honour the incredible women who care for our children every day. Their love, dedication and sacrifice make iKhaya a family. To thank them, we hope to host a special year-end function and bless them with a 13th cheque. This would not only recognise their faithful service, but also support the needs of their own families and bring peace of mind as they enter the new year.
If you would like to partner with us in making this possible, we would be deeply grateful. Thank you for walking this journey with us. Together, we are changing lives and creating futures filled with hope, opportunity and belonging.
With gratitude,
Loressa, Management Committee, Staff and Children
