Newsletter June 2024

Dear friends of iKhaya

Our teens had an incredible time at One Conference and had unbelievable testimonies and saw miracles! A trip worth while. Thank you for helping us send our teens to experience and encounter God at this amazing event.

Our winter break came with many chilly days and even a few rainy days too giving us the chance to enjoy hearty soups and to pull out the winter slippers! It’s been rather busy and challenging keeping all 25 children entertained without the older school kids feeling bored with the younger kids’ level of understanding and abilities.

But having the teens as helpers is teaching them leadership and giving them opportunites to exercise teamwork, patience and tolerance.

Eager to earn and save the older children have been tasked with washing cars. The shopping time finally arrived as the boys decided to buy themselves game consoles. We are hoping that the years of teaching them the art of saving, the value of money and caring for their belongings has paid off and their hard earned savings will translate into many hours of joy.

Lulu has completed her nail training and is ready to put her new skills into practice. Reach out to us to book your mani or pedi with her!

Our AGM will be held on 22 July and we would love to have you join us. The meeting will be brief with updates and feedback on the children and finances.

To partner with us in changing the futures of vulnerable children and meeting their day to day needs please contact us. There are many opportunities to bless a child for a birthday or Christmas, towards a great education, medical/ psychological treatment and more.

Take care,
Loressa, staff and kids
