We continue to run with the vision of iKhaya building wonderful memories and dealing with the battles of life along the way. Getting to grips with renewed roles and responsibilities of the caregivers and volunteers has been challenging but we are seeing promising progress. This child is a beautiful example of servant heartedness in our home.
Our school going children have settled in nicely and have adjusted well to their school routine. The highlight of Term 1 was the fun swimming gala.
The Central Empangeni Municipal Clinic received all 15 of our children with a warm welcome and professionalism to do baseline health assessments and provide us with the children's 6 monthly vitamin A and deworming medication. Do you deworm your family Annual? After all this is Africa!
Library visits have become a highlight and the children visit every second week. Primarily the aim is to instil in them a love and respect for books. These visits also give them much needed exposure to the outside world. We are grateful to the volunteers for taking them and encourage them to bring the children back via the park for a picnic.
